COVID 19 - Session Update

Hey everyone!

I wanted to take a quick minute to talk about something important. By now, we’ve all heard of the coronavirus and its impact worldwide. While at the very least this is distressing, I wanted to assure you that my business and I are prepared. I’m staying updated on the latest information, acting responsibly by avoiding travel to outbreak hotspots, meeting clients and vendors online instead of in person, and swapping hugs and handshakes for a friendly wave.

Additionally, I’m making sure that all of my clients know what to expect from me.

A few notes about my sessions:

  • We will reschedule if you, anyone in your family, or myself are unwell. Even if it is at the last minute. There is no reason to expose anyone to any kind of illness at this time, even if it isn’t actually COVID 19.

  • As always, I will wash my hands before every single session. I’ll wash my hands when I leave the house for a session, hand sanitize in the car when I arrive, hand sanitize when I leave, and then wash my hands when I return home. For an in-home session, as soon as I enter a client’s home, I’ll ask where the sink is so I can wash my hands before I start shooting. I will also wipe down my camera and lens after each session. Washing your hands is the number one defense against the virus so please continue to do it!

  • If guidance is needed, I’ll guide you with my words, not my hands. I always let you pose yourself naturally and comfortably first, but if I notice something is off or needs adjusting, I’ll show you rather than touch you. This includes touching your newborn. I’ll ask you to adjust your baby and place them into position instead of doing this myself, and I’ll refrain myself from having a newborn cuddle😢.

  • Hospitals are overly busy and don’t need another body coming into their space who doesn’t need to be there, so for the time being I won’t be booking any birth or hospital newborn sessions. As of today, in-home newborn sessions can still be booked so you don’t have to miss out on capturing this fleeting time with your new baby.

  • If anyone is unwell or quarantined, and your newborn session has to be delayed, don’t panic! The benefit of a lifestyle newborn session is that they can take place at any age. There is no ideal window for them, and I promise that if you have to wait a few weeks, or even a few months, your baby will still be tiny, will still look like a little baby, and you can still have a gorgeous session. ⠀

  • I will continue to book in-home newborn, family, headshot and branding sessions as long as it is safe to do so, but will continue to watch the situation and will postpone bookings if necessary.

If you have any concerns about your scheduled session or about booking a session, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Be kind to each other and stay well!
