This is How Memories are Made and Stories are Told!

A typical session takes place at a location of your choice or in the comfort of your own home. There is no saying cheese, no posing or angling your head to the left, no matching white tops and jeans. Instead, you get to do what you do best and just be you! You can cuddle your new baby, you can play tickle chase, you can toss your kids in the air, you can make sand pancakes and jump over the waves, you can make cookies and read books, you can take the dog for a walk and have a play on the playground, or you can sit quietly together and have a cuddle...whatever it is that makes you you! 

The sessions are fun and usually full of laughter, but mostly they are natural, honest and real. They are full of emotion and connections. They are the chance to see the beauty in yourself and your family while capturing a small piece of your story. 

After your session, I'll select the best images to be professionally edited. Within three weeks of your session date, you'll receive access to a password protected online proofing gallery for you to view, order and download your images from.

How do I book?

Easy! Send me a message telling me a bit about you and your family and the type of session you’re after. I’ll then get back to you within 24 hours with a bit more details about my sessions and my full pricing guide and we can take things from there.

When is the best time to book?

Right now! I only take a limited number of sessions per month, so as soon as you know you are interested in one, it’s best to get in touch so we can lock in a date! If you’re pregnant and interested in maternity and/or newborn photos, the best time to book is while you’re still pregnant.

What if I’ve already had my baby, am I too late to book?

Absolutely not! I know what it’s like to be pregnant and how easily things can be missed. I also keep a bit of time each month to accomodate a last minute session, so get in touch as soon as you know you’d like a session and we’ll work something out. And one of the best things about lifestyle newborn sessions is that they can take place at any age!

When will we have our session?

Newborn sessions typically take place in the morning (when baby is usually most content). In-home family sessions can take place at any time of day, and outdoor sessions are usually scheduled for within two hours before sunset.

Where will we have our session?

We can do sessions pretty much anywhere! From your home, the beach, the city laneways, to a favourite cafe or ice cream shop. The options are pretty endless! If you’re not sure where to go, we’ll work together to find the perfect location for YOU!

Can siblings, pets, extended family be a part of our session?

Absolutely! If they are present for our session, they will be a part of it - I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What should we wear?

Once you book, I’ll send you my session guide that offers lots of advice and wardrobe ideas. Gone are the days of everyone wearing matching white t-shirts and jeans, but if that’s your thing, I’ll help you rock it! My advice is always to wear what you’re comfortable in and just be you!

What if my kids don’t cooperate or we are awkward in front of the camera?

I promise, it’s not just you that worries about this….most people feel awkward in front of the camera! When we plan your session, we’ll come up with some ideas that will have you engaged and interacting with each other. During the session, I’ll offer some advice and guidance if needed, but usually before you realise it, you’ll forget I’m there. Remember, these aren’t posed pictures. You don’t have to sit and smile at the camera at a a certain angle. You just need to relax and have fun with your family.

And PLEASE don’t worry about your kids cooperating. Kids will be kids! If they want to run around and play and have nothing to do with me, I’m totally fine with it. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to keep them engaged and can be a bit sneaky with how I capture them.

We’re not very interesting and we don’t really have a story to tell. What will you capture?

I hear this a lot and I disagree! We all have a story to tell! We may not all be a famous celebrity, or a CEO of a big company or go sky diving every weekend, but I’m a firm believer that the ordinary is pretty extraordinary. That the little moments are just as important as the big moments (maybe even more so!). That our everyday, real, messy and BEAUTIFUL lives are our stories!
